I’ve made huge strides in the last few years with my body image. I used to try and hide my body with frumpy, black one-piece swimsuits.
Now, the flattering cuts, and gorgeous colors & patterns of 2017 swimsuits are allowing me to show off my curves, and actually enjoy hitting the beach or pool with my kiddos. I’m not a bikini gal, so I’m thrilled that one-pieces are on-trend this summer.
Here are some of my current favs for the Summer of 2017:
Old Navy is tricky because the best/popular styles sell out quickly – they only have one style currently available in their online plus section. I’ve bought a few suits from Costco this year, but they are hit-or-miss since you can’t purchase online, and their in-store selection only goes up to size 18. Costco mostly carries Roots & Speedo brand suits, and while they aren’t the prettiest, they have decent support and work for my aquafit classes.
Modcloth has a wonderful selection of vintage style plus-size suits such as this one, which I bought 3 summers ago:
I purchased this swimsuit from Torrid last year, and have had so many compliments on it:
My only issue with both ModCloth and Torrid is their stupid expensive shipping costs to Canada. I wish one of them would realize that there’s a huge market for plus-size ladies outside of the US.
